Bursary Program

The Rise Building Brighter Futures Bursary Program provides access to education, one of the ways we are living our values as to who we are at Rise to support the rising presence of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.

The program is offered in partnership with Indspire, a national Indigenous charity, which will support the administration of the Program.

Access to education supports Indigenous peoples to bring new ideas and their voices forward, creating new pathways for businesses, communities, and Canada. Education is one way to build a foundation for sustained economic growth.

The program includes two annual bursaries ($6,600 each), distributed for five years (2021-2026), to one post-secondary student in programs related to Indigenous history, Indigenous language, Indigenous Governance, and Indigenous Law, and to one post-secondary student in programs associated with Economics, Finance or Sustainability.

Kind Words

“At the start of our time together, I didn’t know what the output of this collaboration would be and looking at it now, I’m so pleased and am energized to continue to drive this work forward in our organization, guided by the recommendations in the Workplace Strategy. You have been so open and willing to share your knowledge – this is clearly not just work for you, but a deep and personal sharing of who you are, and what you believe. I have learned so much through this process, and I am very humbled and grateful to see the way that you have gently guided the development of the Strategy – pushing for action, but also giving grace and understanding.”
