Rise Recommends

“We have to start transforming relationships with ourselves and each other. Reconciliation belongs to all of us. Reconciliation embodies the spirit of Namwayut, the idea that we are all one. One people, one community, one environment, one spirit.”

Chief Robert Joseph

News of the Gottfriedson Case settlement of $2.8B was released on the weekend, a reminder of the collective harms inflicted by Residential Schools and the truth of our shared history in Canada. As difficult as it can be to learn more about the truth, in his book Namwayut, Chief Robert Joseph teaches us that we are all one. He shares stories of truth, love, forgiveness, humanity and compassion. “Reconciliation is a process of looking back to find a pathway forward toward our higher humanity, our highest selves and an understanding that everybody matters”.
